Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Auth 2FA - Secure Two-Factor Authenticator mobile application (the "App"), published by ZediApps ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The App

Auth 2FA is a mobile application that provides on-device two-factor authentication (TOTP/HOTP) code generation. The App is provided for personal, non-commercial use.

2. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on your personal devices for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute the App or any of its content
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Extract or redistribute the App's databases or content
  • Use the App for unlawful purposes or in violation of any law
  • Use the App to develop competing products or services
  • Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices

3. Your Responsibility for Access & Backups

The App generates two-factor codes on your device. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are solely responsible for keeping your two-factor secrets and backups safe. If you lose your device without a backup, or forget your backup passphrase, we cannot recover your accounts or codes.
  • Backups are encrypted with a passphrase only you hold. We have no copy of your data and no way to reset or recover a forgotten passphrase.
  • We recommend keeping recovery codes provided by each service, and creating an encrypted backup before changing or resetting your device.
  • You are solely responsible for any decisions or actions you take based on the App.

4. Pricing

The App is free to use. It contains no in-app purchases and no subscriptions. If this changes in a future version, these Terms will be updated accordingly.

5. Backups & Migration

The App can export an encrypted backup file and a Google Authenticator-compatible migration QR code so you can move your accounts between devices. These exports contain your account secrets; you are responsible for keeping them private and transferring them only to devices you trust.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, its content, features, databases, design, and functionality are owned by ZediApps and protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.

7. User Content & Data

Any data you create within the App (e.g. saved items, notes, preferences) is stored locally on your device. You retain full ownership of your content. We do not access or store your content on any server. See our Privacy Policy for details.

8. Third-Party Services

The App runs entirely on your device and does not rely on third-party analytics, advertising, or cloud services to function. It uses only Apple's on-device frameworks (Keychain, Face ID / Touch ID, camera). See our Privacy Policy for details.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.
  • We are not liable for any loss of access to your accounts, data, or two-factor codes, including loss resulting from a lost device, a forgotten backup passphrase, or failure to maintain a backup.
  • Because the App is free, our total liability for any claim relating to the App shall not exceed USD $50 or the amount permitted by applicable law, whichever is greater.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ZediApps and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your license to use the App ends immediately.

12. Apple-Specific Terms (iOS)

If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that:

  • These Terms are between you and ZediApps, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
  • Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which ZediApps operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
